February 19, 2019 – The online ticketing site for Pebble Beach Food & Wine has just gone live for the general public along with a line up of ridiculously luxurious events taking place from April 11-14.
“It’s epic,” says organizer David Bernahl. “We’re so lucky that people love good wine and good food and good chefs and like to party in such a beautiful place.”
Now in its 12th year, PBF&W 2019 includes a “Decadence Dinner” with chef Alain Passard of the three-Michelin starred restaurant L’Arpège in Paris, well known for his appearance on Chef’s Table. And it also includes an event called “Aviary Live from Pebble Beach,” with the people behind what’s considered the world’s best bar.
Bernahl says he’s also looking forward to the power lunch featuring culinary icon Jeremiah Tower, who is back for a second year, and two events called “Gone Fishin” with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who runs an empire of restaurants around the world including the acclaimed Morimoto Napa.
A truly once-in-a-lifetime wine event features five decades of Ridge Monte Bello, considered one of the world’s finest wines. Vintages from 2016 back to 1975 will be tasted from large-format bottles, along with a barrel tasting of the unreleased 2017 vintage.
Another highlight is a strolling dinner called “Steakhouse Feels: Big Cabs and Big Slabs” to be held overlooking Stillwater Cove and featuring chefs from some of the great steakhouses around the country. “It’s kind of the opposite of a trend,” says Bernahl, “but people love steak and we’re going to serve it with ice cold martinis and killer cabs.”
As always, a who’s who of local chefs will form the backbone of the annual culinary extravaganza, taking part in the special demos, lunches and dinners, and showing off their talents at the popular Lexus Grand Tastings that take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
